Inspired by the natural world combined with the crazy characters from my imagination, my illustration practice seeks to entertain and amuse the viewer with an alternative perspective on life. I work in pencil, pen, Indian ink, watercolour, chalk and pastels plus the odd bit of digital media, with a few traditional printmaking techniques thrown in! I explore their use for storytelling, character creation and image development and am constantly looking at new ways to develop engaging narrative in my work.

Recent projects have included illustrating A Promise of Poems for children's poet and educator Fiona Halliday, creating an illustrated storytelling bird box as part of the Leeds Library Storytelling Festival and exhibiting at the Bologna Children's Book Fair. I have worked for a variety of clients including Brother, Early Years Resources, Hedgehog Press and Evosoft.
